Quality Rating System

U.S. Federal Program

The Five-Star Quality Rating System helps consumers select and compare skilled nursing facilities. The rating system uses information from health care surveys (both standard and complaint), quality measures, and staffing.

New York State Program

The Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) is comprised of three components worth a maximum of 100 points:

  1. The Quality Component (quality measures)
  2. The Compliance Component (compliance with reporting)
  3. The Efficiency Component (potentially avoidable hospitalizations)

LTC Trend Tracker


Tools and Resources

The LTC TrendTracker allows facilities to track their data to see how they are doing and by how much they need to improve to increase their star ratings. AHCA/NCAL member login required.
