Eligibility: Applicants must be an LNHA & require a copy of their license
Key Objectives:
- Identify and enhance the competencies needed to be an effective LNHA, articulate the standards of care and scope of practice that guide the variety of health care professionals that work in SNFs
- Evaluate current systems to manage and identify key aspects of the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM)
- Apply Human Resource principles into practice
- Prepare for and respond to the federal survey process
- Facilitate an effective Quality Assurance & Improvement Process (QAPI), understanding Payroll Based Journal (PBJ)
- Understand elements of the Emergency Preparedness Program
- Explore the concept of Transformative Culture

» LISA M. VOLK, RN, BPS, LNHA
Executive Director, Foundation for Quality Care
Lisa is an RN with 40 years of experience in the long-term care setting in both the proprietary and not-for-profit sectors. She has held roles as a nurse educator, director of nursing, administrator, and executive director. With a strong operational background, Ms. Volk understands the link between the nurse educator’s role and the facility’s success.
» TARRAH A. QUINLAN, RN, BSN
Director, Education Program Development & Member Operations
Tarrah is an RN with over 20 years of experience in multiple healthcare settings, specializing in long-term care. She is an expert in regulatory compliance, with experience as a nursing home surveyor and, most recently, serving as the Director of the Bureau of Quality Assurance and Surveillance at the NYSDOH. In her role as Director, she oversaw the NYSDOH Nurse Aide Training Program.
