Annual Conference & Expo

The Annual Conference & Expo is NYSHFA| NYSCAL’s largest event.  In addition to offering 4 days of education, covering a wide variety of topics that have appeal across many disciplines, this event includes an exposition to showcase the latest products and services available to the long-term care community. The audience is typically comprised of Owner/Operators, Administrators, Executive Directors, Medical Directors, DONs and members of the Clinical Teams for SNFs, as well as all staff of Assisted Living Communities.

Social Services & Activities Conference

The Social Services & Activities Conference is 2-day event, offered in the Spring, that targets Activity Directors and Social Services staff. This event includes a wide variety of educational opportunities for Social Workers and Recreational Therapy Directors in both Skilled and Assisted Living settings. This conference offers current topics, best practices as well as regulatory updates. Continuing education is offered for LMSW & LCSW.

The Emergency Preparedness Conference is an intensive, one-day seminar designed to help administrators, facility emergency management staff, shift supervisors and operations staff prepare for and ensure a safe environment for residents during an emergency situation. Topics covered during this conference include: initiating effective emergency communication systems; incident control management; active shooter preparation and utilization of drills for emergent situations.

NYSHFA | NYSCAL & the Foundation for Quality Care offer a number of live, half-day or full-day,
In-Person Seminars for individuals serving in New York’s Skilled Nursing facilities and Assisted Living communities.  The goal is to provide up-to-date, relevant and timely information designed to help improve clinical practices and ensure the delivery of high quality health care, housing and supportive services for the residents served.

Conference / Seminar Policies & Procedures

Registration:

  1. Registration is accepted by mail, fax or online at www.nyshfa-nyscal.org. The registration fee must be PAID prior to the start of the event. Payment will also be accepted on the day of the event at check-in.
  2. Payment by check or credit card (MC, VISA, AMEX) is accepted. If paying by check, please make sure the date of the seminar and the name of the attendee is listed on the check or sent with registration forms.
  3. Walk-in registrations will be accepted and payment is required at the time of registration.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be received 5 business days prior to event. Cancellations must be received via email to Erin Fitzgerald. Phone cancellations will not be accepted. Any cancellations received after the 5 day deadline will be assessed a $25.00 administrative fee. Cancellations will not be accepted the day of or after the event. No shows will be billed.

CEUs:

In order to receive the total number of CEU credits for a program, a participant must remain at the program until it is completed. Attendees who leave a program before it is complete will not be given full CEU credit. Administrator credits will be uploaded within 3 weeks of program completion to the NAB CE Registry.
